Lionel Messi not visiting Kerala next month, here’s why…

The event’s sponsor declared on Saturday that Lionel Messi and the Argentina football team will not be traveling to Kerala next month.

The state sports administration and the proposed football match’s sponsor, Anto Augustine, had already declared that the Messi-led Argentina team would play a friendly match in Kochi on November 17.

Augustine, however, declared on his Facebook page that the match would not happen next month.

“Considering the delay in receiving FIFA’s permission, after discussions with the Argentine Football Association (AFA), it has been decided to postpone the match from the November window,” Augustine wrote.

According to him, the new date for the Kerala match will be revealed soon and would take place during the upcoming international window.

There has been no formal communication regarding the postponement, according to officials in Kerala Sports Minister V Abdurahiman’s office.

According to an official, the department will confirm the timetable adjustment after consulting with the relevant authorities.

AFA members had already inspected the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi.

It was anticipated that the Argentina national team would play a top international team in the Kochi friendly.
