Jasprit Bumrah retains No. 1 spot in ICC Test bowling rankings

According to the latest ICC rankings, which were released on Wednesday, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continued to hold the top spot among Test bowlers.

Former England Test captain Joe Root led the charts with 880 points, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were ranked eighth and ninth among the batters, respectively.

Gill has gained a spot and now has 730 points, while Jaiswal has 750. Harry Brook comes in second on the list, followed by Travis Head and Steve Smith, in that order.

India has not yet participated in any WTC games in 2026; their last home match was against South Africa in November.

With 879 points, Bumrah continues to top the bowlers’ list, with Mohammed Siraj coming in at number twelve. Right now, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja are ranked 14th and 15th, respectively.

New Zealand’s Matt Henry also jumped ahead to third place, while Australia’s Mitchell Starc and Test captain Pat Cummins have moved up to second and fourth place, respectively.
