Hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad upset Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy and Eshan Malinga who shared five wickets between them in their IPL match in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Hyderabad held struggling CSK to 184/8 while defending 195. CSK has lost four of their last six games.
Anshul Kamboj and Jamie Overton both claimed three wickets for CSK, while Mukesh Choudhary took two.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings pacers Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj led a superb bowling display to restrict the hosts to 194/9, as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting unit collapsed despite Abhishek Sharma’s thrilling half-century.
One would have assumed that Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s choice to bowl first had backfired as Abhishek Sharma (59 off 22 balls) blasted to another 15-ball half-century.
But on the final two Powerplay deliveries, captain Ishan Kishan (0) and Travis Head (23 off 20 balls) were removed by left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary (2/21 in 2 overs).

At the end of six overs, 75 for 2 suddenly changed from 75 for no loss in 5.4 overs. With the exception of Heinrich Klaasen (59 off 39 balls), who helped himself to another half-century that finally brought the score closer to 200, the post-Powerplay overs were an anguish for the ‘Orange Army’ hitters. That was the opening that CSK needed.
In the middle and final overs, Overton (3/37) and Kamboj (3/22) were the main destroyers, keeping the home team in check. But if SRH hadn’t lost four wickets in four and a half overs, it might have easily reached 225 to 230.
It became necessary to stop the rot before launching a counterattack once they were 112 for 4 at the midway point, and Klaasen accomplished just that. One of the game-changing moments was when Sanju Samson used his cricket acumen to petition for a review against Abhishek after a short ball from Jamie Overton.

Overton’s hard lengths and Noor Ahmed’s (0/33 in 4 overs) airborne trickery prevented Klaasen and other CSK hitters from taking risks. Klaasen had to do all the heavy lifting because Indian hitters like Nitish Reddy (12) and uncapped ones like Aniket Verma and Salil Arora were unable to push the pace.
There aren’t enough words to describe Kamboj (3/22 in 3 overs), who is becoming a master of quick wide yorkers from outside the wicket, like the one that got Klaasen played on.
To exacerbate the situation for the hosts, lanky left-arm hit-the-deck spinner Gurjapneet Singh (1/34 in 4 overs) also bowled 12 dot balls. SRH scored just 40 runs in the final five overs.
The significance of a potent bowling attack in Twenty20 cricket is demonstrated by this IPL match. Hyderabad’s score was eventually limited by Chennai’s ability to take wickets at pivotal times. As the competition goes on, the outcome may have an effect on both teams’ place in the league.
