When India visit Sri Lanka for a two-Test match series as part of the World Test Championship later this year, the squad may play three Twenty20 Internationals against the island nation.
A BCCI official stated that while a 15-day window is open according to schedule, the option of playing three Twenty20 Internationals is being considered.
The Cricket Association of Nepal has also requested the BCCI to deploy its A squad for a bilateral series.
Although a three-person committee has been established to investigate the issue, the source maintained that the BCCCI was not considering putting a five-year cooling-off period on former Indian players to compete in international T20 tournaments.
“A three-member committee has been created to form the draft policy but there is no time period in discussion of imposing any specific time period of cool-off,” PTI quoted a BCCI official as saying.
Although the idea of enforcing a cool-off has been discussed for a few years, the board has not yet taken any significant action in this regard.
