BCCI invites bids for home series title sponsorship rights

With the existing contract with IDFC FIRST Bank coming to an end, the BCCI on Monday requested bids for the title sponsorship rights for its domestic and international home tournaments. An Invitation to Tender (ITT) was released by the cricket board, inviting organizations to submit a competitive proposal for the rights.

A non-refundable cost of Rs 1 lakh plus any relevant GST will be required to obtain the ITT document. The document is available for purchase until August 4, and the deadline for requesting clarifications is August 5.

In a news release signed by its secretary Devajit Saikia, the BCCI stated that bid materials must be submitted by August 13.

According to the BCCI, the tender document—which includes the requirements for eligibility as well as the rules and circumstances regulating the bidding process—will only be distributed once confirmation that the ITT price has been paid.

The board highlighted that only entities who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the tender document are permitted to make bids; acquiring the ITT does not automatically grant an entity the right to participate in the bidding process.

In addition to age-group contests, the winning bidder will have the title sponsorship rights for BCCI events, which include local competitions like the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and Irani Cup, as well as international matches involving the Indian men’s and women’s teams played at home.

IDFC FIRST Bank, which acquired the agreement in September 2023, currently holds the rights, which are valid until August 2026.

All BCCI international and domestic home matches, including Test, ODI, and T20 series, as well as domestic competitions like the Ranji Trophy, are currently sponsored by IDFC First Bank.

Apollo Tyres is also Team India’s official lead sponsor and shirt sponsor.

The BCCI retains the right, at any time and for any cause, to terminate or modify the tender process.

Additionally, the BCCI released a Request for Quotation (RFQ), which invited organizations to submit bids via a tender procedure for the associate partner rights for its events.

After a non-refundable charge of Rs 1 lakh plus any relevant GST is paid, the RFQ document will be made available. Interested companies have until August 14 to purchase the RFQ, August 16 to request clarifications, and August 25 to submit quotation papers.

The board stated that only upon confirmation of payment of the RFQ fee will the RFQ, which includes the eligibility requirements and the parameters controlling the bidding process, be made public.

The associate partner rights for BCCI events, such as domestic competitions, age-group tournaments, and home international matches involving the Indian men’s and women’s teams, would be awarded to the winning bidder.
