Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel included in NADA’s RTP list for Q2 2026

For the second quarter of the current year, the National Anti-Doping Agency’s (NADA) Registered Testing Pool, which was dominated by athletics, saw notable additions from India, including T20 World Cup winners Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel.

Smriti Mandhana and Shreyas Iyer have been replaced by Abhishek and Axar in the most recent list of 348 athletes in the RTP who must provide the anti-doping agency with their whereabouts and be accessible for testing within a designated window each day. A doping infraction is defined as three instances of not providing whereabouts.

Shubman Gill, the captain of Test and One-Day International cricket, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, K L Rahul Arshdeep Singh, and Tilak Verma were among the other cricket players selected.

Alongside Renuka Singh Thakur, all-rounder Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma are still on the list from the women’s team that won a record ODI World Cup last year. The NADA has listed 14 cricket players in total.

Steeplechaser Avinash Sable, hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, decathlete Tejaswin Shankar, sprinter Animesh Kujur, and other well-known athletes were among the 134 athletes, up from 118 in the previous NADA RTP.

Discus thrower Tajinderpal Singh Toor and long jumpers Shaili Singh and M Sreeshankar have also been named.

Additionally, there are three archers: renowned para-archer Sheetal Devi, veteran Deepika Kumari, and Rakesh Kumar Archery.

Along with women’s team captain Salima Tete, Savita Punia, and Navneet Kaur, senior hockey players Manpreet Singh, captain Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, and Hardik Singh are there.

Among the eight members of the badminton team are Gayatri Gopichand, Lakshya Sen, and PV Sindhu.

There are 22 boxers on the list, including Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain and world medallists Nikhat Zareen, Nishant Dev, and Jaismine Lamboria.

With 31 names, wrestlers make up a sizable portion of the registered athletes, including Olympic bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat.
