Chennai Super Kings pacer Khaleel Ahmed will miss the rest of the 2026 Indian Premier League because of a quadriceps injury.
Ahmed, who has participated in all five of CSK’s games thus far, complained of right hip pain during the team’s most recent match on April 14 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
During the tournament’s early stages, he was one of CSK’s reliable players. In the last two games, the 28-year-old claimed two wickets as CSK recovered from a challenging start to win.
“It is a grade 2 tear and the rehab will take at least 10-12 weeks,” PTI quoted an IPL source as saying.
The left-arm pacer’s last appearance was in July 2024. He has participated in 11 ODIs and 18 T20s for India.
With two victories from five games, CSK eighth in the teams standings.
