In a Group C Vijay Hazare Trophy match on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur against Uttarakhand, Rohit Sharma fell for a golden duck, ending his purple patch.
Rohit was dismissed while attempting his favorite pull shot. He tried to pull off the first ball he came across, but he was unable to keep it off the fielder and along the ground.
Jagmohan Nagarkoti took a fumbling catch at fine leg, and Devendra Singh Bora claimed the major wicket, Rohit perished for a golden duck.
Unfortunately, Rohit did not score any runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium despite being in ominous form. As Rohit was dismissed, unhappy fans began to leave the stadium. They clearly showed up in large numbers to see another Rohit masterclass.
Rohit was anticipated to deliver the goods once more after smashing an incredible 155 off 94 balls at the same venue in his Vijay Hazare Trophy comeback against Sikkim a few days ago.
With the exception of today’s blip, Rohit has been in good form and is expected to perform well against the Kiwis at home.
Rohit will most likely not play Mumbai’s next Vijay Hazare Trophy match as he will now join the national team and begin preparing for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
