
Dabang Delhi K.C. defeated the Tamil Thalaivas 37–31 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium after overcoming a fierce challenge on Friday. Akshit Dhull, who scored 12 points after substituting, was the night’s biggest raider. He received a High Five from the seasoned Fazel Atrachali, who helped him out well.
Arjun Deshwal also earned a Super 10 in vain, and they tied Puneri Paltan at the top of the leaderboard in terms of points. Under the leadership of Arjun Deshwal, the Tamil Thalaivas got off to a quick start. In Dabang Delhi’s subsequent raid, Aashish got Ajinkya after Sagar Rathee battled Neeraj Narwal.
Following several successful raids that resulted in the dismissal of players like Saurabh Nandal and Fazel Atrachali, Arjun’s excellent play continued when he quickly dismissed Akshit and Surjeet Singh to give the Thalaivas the first ALL OUT of the game. By the end of the first ten minutes, the score was 13-6, giving the Thalaivas a huge lead.
The Thalaivas had a great start, but in the second quarter, Dabang Delhi put the pressure on their rivals. The Thalaivas were subjected to the ALL OUT after Super-sub Akshit carried the burden of the raid on his shoulder, with his move getting both Arulnanthababu and Aashish.
As Dabang Delhi gradually fought their way back into the game, Fazel tackled Arjun Deshwal and Sandeep tackled Moein Shafaghi. In spite of this, the Thalaivas maintained their composure, and with the score at 19-16, Arjun completed his Super 10 in the last Do-Or-Die raid of the first half.
Five minutes into the second half, Dabang Delhi, the season 8 winners, tied the score. Before Surjeet confronted Moein, giving the Dabang Delhi the lead, Naveen successfully captured Ronak in a raid. Now that the comeback was complete, the Tamil Thalaivas had the upper hand, as the third quarter ended with a score of 23-23.
In a Do-Or-Die raid, Akshit nabbed Mohit and Ronak in one fell swoop, giving Dabang Delhi the lead in the second half. The ALL OUT was imposed on the Thalaivas following Aashish’s tackle by Fazel Atrachali, giving Dabang Delhi an insurmountable lead and signaling the end of the game.
Dabang Delhi increased their advantage to four points in the second half as Akshit finished his Super 10 and subsequently received Sagar Rathee. After Shafaghi was attacked by Sandeep, Arjun was grabbed by Fazel, and in the closing seconds of the game, the Iranian completed his High Five. The game ended with Dabang Delhi winning by a commanding six points, leaving the Thalaivas with just three players remaining.
