PKL: UP Yoddhas overpower U Mumba 40–24 to snap losing streak

UP Yoddhas defeated U Mumba 40–24 thanks to a standout performance from Guman Singh at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Monday. Leading from the front, Guman’s performance gave his squad a much-needed victory. His shrewd raiding, along with his comrades’ strong defensive play, made sure the Yoddhas maintained control for the most of the game and ended on a high note.

With an outstanding tackle from Sumit, the UP Yoddhas got off to a fast start and took the lead. They swiftly increased their lead as Gagan Gowda’s successful raid put them ahead 0-2. With excellent cooperation between their raiders and defenders, the Yoddhas kept up the pressure and increased their lead to four points in the first three minutes of play.

But U Mumba quickly retaliated. To put his team on the scoreboard and cut the deficit to 2-4, Parvesh Bhainswal produced a spectacular Super Tackle. That discovery provided U Mumba with the impetus they required. In order to tie the score at five to five, their defense tightened up and produced two swift tackles. As the two sides traded scores, momentum continued to alter. U Mumba gained the lead with a successful raid, but the Yoddhas quickly equalized the score. The scores were evenly balanced at the time of the first half’s Strategic Time Out, ensuring an intriguing contest between the two teams.

When play started up again, U Mumba took the lead with a first-point grab and Ajit Chouhan’s deft tackle soon added another. Sandeep quickly devised a brilliant raid to increase their lead to 9–6. The UP Yoddhas then put up a fierce fight. After Hitesh scored two vital points with an incredible Super Tackle, Guman Singh successfully raided to square the score once more.

In a fiercely contested period, neither team gave an inch as they continued to trade points. But the Yoddhas were able to gain a little advantage right before halftime, leading 11–13 by barely two points.

With a successful raid that earned Guman Singh a point, the UP Yoddhas got off to a good start in the second half. The Yoddhas had a slim two-point advantage and appeared to be in control until Rinku’s incredible Super Tackle for U Mumba tied the game once more.

But the Yoddhas soon found their beat again. Jayesh Mahajan helped his team regain the lead with a brilliant tackle. Over the next few minutes, the game remained close as both sides kept exchanging points. The Yoddhas quickly gained momentum and extended their lead to four points by inflicting an All Out. The attack didn’t end there; Guman Singh’s Super Raid increased the deficit to 16–23.

The Yoddhas took full control of the game after that, staying ahead by six points and applying steady pressure to U Mumba until the second half’s Strategic Time Out. After play restarted, Guman Singh maintained his excellent form, therefore the plot didn’t really change. He soon added another point to his Super 10 total, and he then assisted the UP Yoddhas in scoring another All Out to increase their advantage to ten points.

The Yoddhas continued to expand their lead by steady raids and valiant defense, and they showed no signs of slowing down. They forced another All Out with less than two minutes remaining, bringing the score to 21-39.

The squad kept up their superiority till the final siren, applying pressure to U Mumba and ultimately winning 40–24.
