According to the New York Post, Belgium players celebrated their decisive 4-1 victory over the United States in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 with a dance inspired by US President Donald Trump.
The New York Post added that Romelu Lukaku and a few teammates got together and performed the popular dance linked to President Trump as part of their celebrations after Lukaku’s stoppage-time goal sealed Belgium’s commanding victory at Seattle Stadium.
The gesture was made just after Lukaku’s late goal, which added to goals from Hans Vanaken and Charles De Ketelaere’s brace, guaranteed Belgium’s spot in the quarterfinals.
After the hosts’ FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign ended with a 4-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16, the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) congratulated its fans.
The USMNT thanked fans for their steadfast support during the competition and acknowledged the part they played in supporting the squad at home in a post on X after the elimination.
“You believed. You filled stadiums. You brought the game into homes and communities across the country. Most of all, you showed everyone what this crest means. Thank you,” the USMNT wrote on X.
