PKL: Puneri Paltan overpower UP Yoddhas to reclaim top spot

Puneri Paltan had a fantastic day at work on Wednesday, defeating UP Yoddhas 43-32 at the Vishwanadh Sports Club. Super 10s from Aditya Shinde and Pankaj Mohite helped the team win, and Gaurav Khatri added a strong High Five to the mix. With yet another Super 10, Gagan Gowda once again made an impression on the Yoddhas.

Aslam Inamdar’s excellent raid gave Puneri Paltan the opening point and started the game off well. But Guman Singh of UP Yoddhas quickly answered to tie the score at 1-1.

The tide turned when Pankaj Mohite scored four points and put Puneri ahead 7-3 with a Super Raid. However, the lead was soon reduced to 6-7 when Mohite made a mistake that allowed the Yoddhas to perform a Super Tackle. After that, Guman Singh of the Yoddhas scored another point to tie the match at 7–7.

Before the first timeout, Puneri Paltan battled back to even the score after UP Yoddhas had taken a two-point advantage for a brief period of time. With just over seven minutes remaining in the first half, Paltan extended the lead to 12-9 after the break with three points in a row.

After imposing an ALL OUT, the Paltan increased their lead to 16–12. Puneri maintained their lead at 21-16 going into halftime, despite the Yoddhas scoring a few points in the latter half.

Puneri Paltan extended their lead with a well-executed tackle to start the second half. Soon after, Aditya Shinde’s successful raid enabled the Paltan to inflict another ALL OUT, bringing the score to 27-17. This marked a turning point.

With another successful raid, Shinde kept up his momentum and eventually finished his Super 10. Even though he led the charge, Paltan’s defense held firm and prevented UP Yoddhas from catching up. With a 32–21 lead at the second-half timeout, the Paltan were well in charge.

The game’s pattern didn’t change after the break. The Paltan rapidly increased their lead to 37-22 and established a huge 15-point buffer by inflicting a second ALL OUT in the half. After finishing his Super 10, Pankaj Mohite joined the celebration, rounding off yet another successful run.

Puneri Paltan ultimately restored their winning ways and took back the top spot on the points table by securing a convincing 11-point victory and demonstrating their superiority on both sides of the mat.
