IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders lose Angkrish Raghuvanshi to injury

Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the wicketkeeper-batter for the Kolkata Knight Riders, was ruled out of the Indian Premier League on Friday owing to a fractured left hand finger and a concussion. During KKR’s match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday at the Eden Gardens, Raghuvanshi suffered the fracture while trying to take a catch.

“Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of 2026 Indian Premier League after sustaining a concussion and a fracture to a finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, 20 May,” KKR said in a statement.

After six victories, numerous losses, and one washed-out game, KKR, currently ranked sixth with 13 points, have already been eliminated from playoff contention this year.

On Sunday, the three-time IPL champions KKR will play their final league game in Kolkata against Delhi Capitals, who are also not in the running for the playoffs.

Raghuvanshi, 21, finished this IPL season with 422 runs at a strike rate of 146.52, five half-centuries, and an average of 42.20.
