Team India breaks toss jinx with KL Rahul’s winning call against South Africa – Watch

Stand-in captain KL Rahul broke the almost unbelievable jinx against South Africa, and India finally won an ODI toss on Saturday after losing 20 straight coin flips.

India’s curse of a million-to-one ended in Visakhapatnam when visiting skipper Temba Bavuma called heads but the coin came down as tails, causing Rahul to rejoice with a fist bump.

India last won the toss in a one-day match over two years ago. Rahul chose to bowl in the series’ decisive third game, which is level at 1-1, as the fans erupted in cheers.

Rahul is leading the ODI team in place of the injured Shubman Gill, and India’s players were eager to congratulate him.

As India won their first ODI toss since the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai on November 15, 2023, Rahul praised presenter Murali Kartik for being a lucky charm.

A beaming Rahul said: “You should do more tosses for us.”

Former Indian batsman Sanjay Bangar claimed that Rahul’s trick of using his left hand rather than his typical right to flip the coin worked.
