The International Cricket Council produced a promotional poster for next year’s T20 World Cup ticket sales without Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, and this has angered the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Suryakumar Yadav (India), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka), and Harry Brook (England) were the only five captains on the promotional poster, and a trustworthy PCB source stated that the issue had been brought up with the ICC.
“We faced the same issues when the Asia Cup was held a few months back and that time the broadcasters had started a promotional campaign without our captain featuring in it,” the source said.
He claimed that the issue only improved when the PCB had a conversation with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
“We are facing a similar situation this time as the ICC has not projected our captain on the promotional poster for ticket sales,” he added.
Despite not being among the top five teams in the ICC T20 rankings, he claimed that Pakistan had a rich history and was still among the top draws in the World Cup.
According to him, the PCB is certain that the ICC would feature the Pakistani skipper in its advertisements and posters.
