Sushil Kumar’s bail cancelled by Supreme Court in Chhatrasal Stadium murder case

Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar’s bail was revoked by the Supreme Court on Wednesday in the case of the death of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankar at the national capital’s Chhatrasal Stadium.

The Delhi High Court’s March 4 ruling giving the wrestler bail was overturned by a bench of justices Sanjay Karol and Prashant Kumar Mishra.

The wrestler has been given a week to surrender.

A property dispute is said to have led to Sushil Kumar and others killing Dhankar in May 2021.

During the attack, Dhankar’s two friends had also suffered injuries.

The postmortem report revealed that Dhankar sustained cerebral injuries caused by the impact of a blunt object.
