At the BCCI’s annual awards ceremony, which will take place in New Delhi on March 15, India’s Test and ODI skipper Shubman Gill is set to be crowned Cricketer of the Year.
The 26-year-old had a great run in the other two formats but was last month left out of the T20 team that won the World Cup on Sunday.
At an average of more than 70, Gill scored 983 runs in Test matches, including a staggering 754 in the 2025 away series against England. His total number of ODI runs was 490, of which 188 came during India’s Champions Trophy winning campaign.
Gill scored 1,764 runs overall at an average of 49 in all formats, including three fifties and seven hundreds. He scored 650 runs for Gujarat Titans at an average of 50 during the IPL, despite his lackluster T20 International performance.
Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of India, will receive the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Indian cricket, which include leading the team to the 2024 T20 World Cup title victory.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to be recognized as the top domestic cricket association.
