PM Modi meets Neeraj Chopra, says he had ‘great discussion’ on sports

Neeraj Chopra, a two-time Olympic medal-winning javelin thrower, and his wife Himani Mor met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in New Delhi.

Chopra is presently taking a vacation from competition after marrying former tennis player Mor in a private ceremony earlier this year.

“Met Neeraj Chopra and his wife, Himani Mor at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg earlier today. We had a great interaction on various issues including sports of course!” Modi posted on ‘X’.

Chopra, 27, had a mixed year. He broke the 90-meter mark at the Doha Diamond League, but he was unable to defend his World Championship title in September because of fitness problems, finishing eighth overall.

He also hosted a javelin throw event named in his honour in Bengaluru, emerging as the winner.

The superstar hired Czech icon Jan Zelezny, the owner of three Olympic gold medals and the world record javelin throw of 98.48 meters, as a new coach at the beginning of the season.
