
U Mumba defeated the Telugu Titans 33-26 in the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, dominating the game. The squad put on a solid all-around display, with their defenders and raiders coordinating flawlessly the entire time.
The Bengaluru Bulls’ defeat by the Patna Pirates and U Mumba’s victory over the Titans allowed Dabang Delhi K.C. to move into the top two of the standings.
Ajit Chouhan’s successful raid gave U Mumba the first point and allowed them to soon add a couple more, giving them a great start to the match. Soon after, Bharat scored a point for the Titans with a skillfully performed raid.
In the first few minutes, U Mumba accumulated points gradually to establish a 6-2 lead, demonstrating their power in both offense and defense. But later, Bharat came through for the Titans once more, leading his team to a 7-6 victory with a spectacular two-point raid.
When the Strategic Time Out was taken in the first half, U Mumba had a 6-8 advantage despite the Titans’ best efforts to rally. U Mumba maintained their momentum after play restarted, putting up a solid all-around performance. Together, their defenders and raiders increased the lead to 11–7.
Over the next few minutes, both sides traded points as the Titans attempted to stay in the game. But U Mumba maintained their lead, leading 14–12 at the interval thanks to their steadiness.
Both teams displayed excellent defensive play at the start of the second half, with Vijay Malik and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh giving their teams early points. Prior to Praful Zaware’s great raid, U Mumba had a two-point advantage, but now the score is 15–14. But when Zafardanesh launched another cunning raid, U Mumba swiftly recovered possession and restored their two-point lead.
U Mumba maintained the momentum as they quickly extended their lead to 23–17 with an ALL OUT. Their well-rounded performance in both offense and defense allowed them to maintain strong control. U Mumba was ahead 25–17 at the time of the second-half Strategic Time Out.
U Mumba immediately gained another point once play restarted, extending their lead. Quick raids by the Telugu Titans did result in a few points, but U Mumba’s defense held firm.
Rinku scored another point for U Mumba with a spectacular tackle, increasing their advantage to 19-28. With excellent coordination between their raiders and defenders, the squad maintained their dominance of the match. Particularly noteworthy was U Mumba’s defense, which consistently halted the Telugu Titans’ advances and retained tight control of the match.
Vijay Malik fought well for the Titans in spite of the pressure, displaying his offensive consistency. His attempts, however, were insufficient to change the outcome of the match, as U Mumba maintained a commanding lead until the very end.
