PKL: U Mumba down Tamil Thalaivas again to seal season double

U Mumba defeated Tamil Thalaivas 42-24, securing fifth position on the points table at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. While Lokesh Ghosliya and Sunil Kumar received High Fives in defense, Sandeep led the attack and recorded his third straight Super 10 of the season. U Mumba’s supremacy over the mat was guaranteed when their combined efforts neutralized Nitesh Kumar’s High Five for the Thalaivas.

After a hotly contested first 10 minutes, U Mumba established a slim 9-7 lead over Tamil Thalaivas. The game started off swinging by narrow margins, with Lokesh Ghosliya and Rinku standing tall in defense and making vital tackles, while Sandeep and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh of U Mumba had an early influence in raids.

With Arjun Deshwal causing trouble on the mat, including a successful raid that saw Ravi sent out, Tamil Thalaivas managed to stay in the hunt and maintain a close score. As the Thalaivas attempted to obtain an advantage, changes such as Yogesh Yadav for Arulnanthababu gave them tactical depth. Every raid and tackle counted since U Mumba was only two points up, ensuring that the rest of the first half would be an exciting match.

In a hotly contested second ten minutes, U Mumba increased their lead over the Thalaivas. Tactical raids and defensive tenacity characterized the time, with Ajit Chouhan leading two Thalaivas players out in a pivotal Do-Or-Die raid. In order to keep their team moving forward, Lokesh kept up his defensive anchoring, giving the second-fastest High Five of the season and making key tackles.

Through Arjun Deshwal, the Tamil Thalaivas attempted to retaliate, but multiple Do-Or-Die raids were unsuccessful. Nitesh Kumar and Suresh Jadhav both made crucial defensive stops to stop the scoring. The match remained competitive during the second ten minutes thanks to a combination of successful raids, empty raids, and calculated substitutions. U Mumba was ahead 16–11 at the break, holding a five-point lead.

In the final ten minutes of the second half, U Mumba established their dominance against Tamil Thalaivas and took a commanding lead in the game. U Mumba’s best player, Sandeep, kept the scoreboard moving and carried out accurate raids. In order to prevent Tamil Thalaivas from gaining any momentum, captain Sunil Kumar and Zafardanesh remained steadfast, and Arjun Deshwal’s multiple failed raids demonstrated U Mumba’s superiority.

The pivotal moment occurred when Sandeep’s two-point raid set off an ALL OUT, throwing Rohit Beniwal and Aashish off the mat and providing U Mumba with a sizable lead. In addition to widening the gap, the raid gave U Mumba the ability to control the game’s tempo. U Mumba had a 28-16 lead at the end of this quarter, solidifying their hold on the game as they attempted to win it.

U Mumba ultimately controlled the battle against the Thalaivas, completing a decisive victory with ruthless raids and a strong defense. With a total of 12 points, Sandeep spearheaded the attack, frequently breaching the Thalaivas’ defense and causing damage at pivotal times. In order to demonstrate his influence on the game, captain Sunil anchored the defense and finished a High Five.

U Mumba further widened the gap during this time by inflicting their second ALL OUT of the game. With multiple fruitless raids and failed attempts highlighting U Mumba’s supremacy, Tamil Thalaivas were unable to gather any momentum. U Mumba won by a decisive 18 points at the end of the match, solidifying their dominance in both offense and defense.
