PKL: Telugu Titans extend winning streak to four with victory over UP Yoddhas

In Sunday’s Pro Kabaddi League match in Chennai, the Telugu Titans defeated UP Yoddhas 40-35 after a fierce battle, extending their winning streak to four games.

The Titans’ star player, Bharat Hooda, scored a Super 10 and Shubham Shinde gave a High Five. At the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, captain Vijay Malik scored nine points, and Praful Zaware made a pivotal four-point cameo to end the game in the closing minutes.

Before Bharat took over, Vijay opened the scoring with a multi-point raid. Bhavani Rajput was having a great game for the UP Yoddhas, collecting five points in a short period of time.

Chetan Sahu’s Super Tackle and Shubham’s tackle gave the Telugu Titans a five-point advantage gradually but steadily. Bharat maintained a consistent lead by keeping his foot on the pedal. But with a score of 13–10, Guman Singh reduced the gap to two points.

The Telugu Titans subsequently took a six-point lead as the raider delivered the game’s first ALL OUT. With a successful Do-Or-Die Raid, Bharat increased the lead to nine points, but Bhavani’s own Do-Or-Die Raid kept his side in the hunt.

In support of Bhavani, who scored nine points in the first half, Hitesh recorded his first tackle off the bench and Gagan Gowda scored his first points. At the half, the Titans led 22–16.

Bhavani finished his Super 10 for the evening with the first raid of the second half. The Titans maintained their lead as Vijay and Bhavani traded blows on their individual Do-Or-Die Raids. Bharat’s Super 10 kept their side in control after Ajit Pawar’s Super Tackle.

But by giving their opponents an ALL OUT, UP Yoddhas swiftly reduced the deficit to three points. With less than ten minutes remaining, Bhavani proved to be a pain for Titans, trimming the margin to 30-27 while Guman continued to make an impact off the bench.

With Bhavani spearheading the attack and Gagan providing defensive support, the Yoddhas persisted in their threat. Unfortunately for them, the Titans held onto a 33-29 lead after Shubham’s Super Tackle closed the door. With less than three minutes remaining, he made sure his team had a three-point advantage by executing another vital Super Tackle.

Bhavani kept the UP Yoddhas in the game with his raiding skills, but the Titans discovered an unexpected hero in Praful, who made sure his team had their noses in front with a few crucial raids when Deing was the final player on the mat.

His four points were crucial in the end as the clock was ticking down, and Bharat’s final touches gave the Telugu Titans a 40-35 victory in a high-scoring contest.
