Bengal Warriorz defeated Dabang Delhi 37-36 in Chennai on Thursday in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, regaining their winning ways in spectacular form.
With the victory, the season 7 champions, led by Devank Dalal’s Super 10 and Ashish Malik’s High Five, rose to 10th position in the standings.
Because of a tackle by Ankit and a subsequent raid by their captain, Bengal Warriorz established a two-point advantage early in the game.
The table-toppers were able to level the score thanks to a two-point raid from Naveen Rawal in Ashu Malik’s absence. During the first exchanges, Saurabh Nandal and Ankit were both making contributions for their teams, and the tackles were coming in at a high rate.
After a wild start, Bengal Warriorz took the lead again thanks to the offensive skills of Dalal and Himanshu Narwal. However, Ajinkya Pawar and Neeraj Narwal then tied the score once more.
With a tackle from Nandal, Dabang Delhi took the lead for the first time that evening. However, Himanshu’s Super Raid kept the season 7 winners two points up after the first ten minutes.
Nothing stood between the two teams as they continued to battle it out in this intense match. Bengal Warriorz then attempted to establish their dominance by inflicting the first all-out of the game with the aid of a tackle from Parteek and a Super Tackle from Anurag Kumar.
Ajinkya Pawar and Akshit Dhull kept Dabang Delhi in the game with a score of 19–18 at halftime, despite the fact that there was only a single point separating the two teams.
With five minutes remaining, Bengal Warriorz opened a five-point lead thanks to a couple of Super Tackles from Manjeet and Malik. With the score at 33-32, Neeraj then went all out to reduce it to a one-point match for the table-toppers.
Malik finished his High Five, while Dalal finished his Super 10, giving the Bengal Warriorz another four-point lead. A couple of rapid raids from Mohit Deswal and a key tackle by Fazel Atrachali kept the game alive, adding another possible twist to the story.
But the drama continued until the last whistle blew. Himanshu’s botched raid turned out to be the game’s last act, as Bengal Warriorz won a thrilling 37-36 battle with two points separating the two teams.
