PKL: All-round brilliance from Telugu Titans trio sinks Bengal Warriorz

The Telugu Titans defeated Bengal Warriorz 44-34 thanks to a strong performance, earning them their second victory of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag on Sunday.

Ankit spearheaded the Telugu Titans’ defensive attack with a High Five, while Vijay Malik and Bharat Hooda both recorded Super 10. While Devank Dalal finished his Super 10 with 13 points to become the fastest player in PKL history to reach 50 raid points in a season, Nitesh Kumar recorded a High Five for the Bengal Warriorz.

Ankit’s first tackle of the day gave the Telugu Titans the lead and, more significantly, got Devank off the mat. He quickly followed suit with Manprit Pardeep, enabling his team to easily take a three-nil lead. Bengal Warriorz’s Ashish Malik scored the first goal, while Nitesh Kumar also hit Bharat Hooda with a Super Tackle.

But the Telugu Titans kept up their offensive pressure, first with a two-point raid from Chetan Sahu and then with another from Vijay Malik to give Bengal Warriorz the game’s first ALL OUT at the ten-minute mark. The Telugu Titans were controlling the terms of this match with a seven-point advantage.

Thanks to their defensive efforts in the first half, Ashish and Nitesh helped the Bengal Warriorz stay in the match. They tried their hardest, but they were unable to approach the Telugu Titans. With the help of Bharat Hooda, Vijay Malik added to the Season 7 winners’ suffering with a Super Raid, giving their squad a commanding 23–14 advantage at the half.

At the beginning of the second half, Vijay scored two points to give Bengal Warriorz another ALL OUT, increasing Telugu Titans’ advantage to thirteen points. Bharat’s Super 10 helped the Telugu Titans take control of the game and increase their lead to 34-16.

Devank Dalal gave Bengal Warriorz hope going into the last quarter by finishing his Super 10 and cutting the deficit to 14 points. As the Warriorz displayed some tenacity and a spirit of determination, the lead was quickly reduced to eight points.

Regretfully, it ultimately didn’t matter much to them. With Vijay Malik finishing his Super 10 and Ankit scoring his High Five, the Telugu Titans further solidified their dominance in this match, winning by a commanding 10-point margin.
