
India’s double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker took home the bronze in the Asian Shooting Championship’s women’s 10m air pistol event at Shymkent in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
In the eight-women finals, Bhaker finished third with a score of 219.7.
Qianke Ma of China won the gold medal with 243.2, defeating Jiin Yang of Korea, who had to settle for silver with 241.6.
Bhaker, 23, advanced to the final after placing third in the qualifying round with a 583 score.
Korea’s Yejin Oh scored 585 to lead the qualifications, but since she was competing only for ranking points, China’s Qianxun Yao advanced to the final as the top-ranked shooter.
Suruchi Singh finished 12th with 574, while Esha Singh, who was competing solely for ranking points, came in ninth with 577. Surbhi Rao (RPO) finished 25th with 570, while Palak finished 17th with 573.
With a combined score of 1730, Bhaker, Suruchi Singh, and Palak finished third in the team competition.
