IPL 2026 mini-auction likely in mid-December, big stars up for grabs

Another round of crucial team reshuffles is anticipated when the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction is likely to take place between December 13 and 15.

The deadline for franchises to turn in their player retention lists is November 15, according to Cricbuzz. The auction, which has been conducted in Dubai and Jeddah in the previous two editions, is anticipated to return to India this year, though the BCCI has not yet finalized the venue.

The report added that Chennai Super Kings may release Devon Conway, Sam Curran, Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Shankar, and Deepak Hooda. Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, may be let go unless a transfer agreement is reached.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana’s fates are still up in the air, but their chances may improve with Kumar Sangakkara’s return as Royals coach. After R Ashwin retired from the IPL, CSK’s purse increased by Rs 9.75 crore.

One of the possible headline grabs is Venkatesh Iyer, who was acquired by KKR for an incredible Rs 23.75 crore the previous season.

One of the most sought-after selections for the forthcoming auction is Cameron Green. Several sides have already expressed interest in the Australian all-rounder, who was sidelined by injury during the previous tournament.

David Miller, Mayank Yadav, Mitchell Starc, Akash Deep, and T Natarajan are among players who might be available.
