In the latest ICC Men’s T20 Players’ Rankings released on Wednesday, young Indian opener Abhishek Sharma and spinner Varun Chakravarthy remained at the top of the batting and bowling rankings.
With 925 rating points, Abhishek leads all batters, surpassing both Tilak Varma and Phil Salt of England. The only other Indian in the top 10 is T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who is ranked eighth.
Spinner Chakravarthy continues to lead the rankings for T20I bowlers, while Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, who moved up two spots to 10th, is one of the biggest improvers this week due to his exploits against India at home.
Rashid Khan of Afghanistan and Akeal Hosain of the West Indies follow Chakravarthy. There are no other Indians at the top of the rankings for T20 bowlers.
The only Indian in the top 10 among T20 all-rounders, Hardik Pandya is ranked fourth, behind Saim Ayub of Pakistan, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, and Roston Chase of the West Indies.
Just months before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup began, Pakistan showed encouraging prospects as some of their players improved.
In 2025, they have won four of their five bilateral series. Their last victory came against South Africa at home, when they won the series 2-1 in advance of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
This week, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz (up three positions to 15th) and Ibrahim Zadran (up six spots to 20th), West Indies captain Shai Hope (up two spots to 12th), and Bangladeshi left-hander Tanzid Hasan (up 20 places to 17th) all moved up the T20I batting rankings.
