PKL 12: U Mumba pull off stunning comeback win over Tamil Thalaivas

U Mumba defeated Tamil Thalaivas 36-33 in a Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 match played in Visakhapatnam on Sunday thanks to an incredible late comeback.

For the majority of the match, the Thalaivas were led by Arjun Deshwal’s Super 10, but after trailing by nine points in the second half, Ajit Chouhan and Anil Mohan spurred U Mumba’s comeback.

Chouhan gave them the lead early in the game with successful raids, but the Thalaivas took the lead after Deshwal’s crucial raid in the sixteenth minute.

With only one man remaining on the mat, Anil Mohan, the most expensive player in Category D, produced a pivotal raid as the two sides traded leads after the first-half timeout. Rinku’s Super Tackle kept U Mumba in the game after he received a touch point and a bonus.

Pawan’s ejection of Sunil Kumar at halftime gave the Thalaivas a 14–11 lead.

Early in the second half, the Thalaivas extended their lead with an ALL OUT on U Mumba. Nitesh Kumar was brilliant when he got rid of Chouhan, and Deshwal finished his second Super 10 in as many games.

Pawan scored two more points shortly after, giving the Thalaivas a nine-point advantage.

However, U Mumba mounted an incredible comeback. With five minutes remaining, Chouhan and Anil Mohan led the charge, reducing the margin to just two points.

The pressure paid off as U Mumba turned the match in their favor by not only avoiding another ALL OUT but also inflicting one of their own on the Thalaivas.

As the game was slipping away, Pawan made an unforced mistake that secured the victory. The U Mumba, captained by Sunil Kumar, pulled off an unlikely comeback to win 36-33, their first victory of the year.
