The Pakistan Super League’s three-person technical committee has dismissed Fakhar Zaman’s appeal against his two-match suspension for tampering with the ball during a game.
Following a hearing and review of all the evidence, the committee upheld the ban that match referee Roshan Mahanama had imposed.
He had accused the captain of the Lahore Qalandars of a level three offense for altering the ball’s condition. Zaman will not play for his team, the Lahore Qalandars, against Islamabad United on April 9 and against Multan Sultan on Friday.
Zaman’s appeal was predicated on the argument that the ban ought to be lifted because there is no solid proof that he altered the ball’s condition.
Following the Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings game in Lahore, the match referee had two hearings with him.
Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and bowler Haris Rauf were gathered together prior to the start of the final over of the Karachi Kings innings when umpire Faisal Afridi requested the ball from them.
After examining the ball with colleague umpire Shujauddaula, the umpire changed the ball and gave the Qalandars team a five-run penalty.
Karachi Kings needed nine runs in the last over after Shaheen protested the five-run penalty, and they scored them off the first three balls to register a thrilling win.
