Pacer Navdeep Saini replaced Harshit Rana on Wednesday in the Kolkata Knight Riders lineup for the IPL, which starts on March 28.
In domestic cricket, Saini and Rana both play for Delhi and have represented India. Last month, Rana had knee surgery, which prevented him from competing in the T20 World Cup, which India won.
“Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) have picked Navdeep Saini and Kulwant Khejroliya respectively as player replacements for TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026,” said the IPL in a statement.
In addition to taking 23 wickets for India in international cricket, Saini has already claimed 23 wickets in 32 IPL games. He joins KKR for Rs 75 lakh.
Prithviraj Yarra was replaced in the Gujarat Titans squad by Khejroliya.
“Meanwhile, Khejroliya replaces the injured Prithviraj Yarra in GT. The left-arm pacer, who has six IPL wickets to his name, has previously featured for GT, KKR, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He will join GT for INR 30 Lakh,” added the IPL statement.
