Sam Curran set to miss IPL 2026 with injury, blow for Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals’ Sam Curran would be another addition to the IPL 2026 injury list as the English allrounder is all set to miss the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. Curran and Ravindra Jadeja were traded from Chennai Super Kings in an exchange deal for Sanju Samson.

Curran struggled in the last season of IPL, where he scored 114 runs and picked one wicket as CSK finished at the bottom of the table for the first time. He was recently part of England’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad.

However, Curran is set to miss IPL 2026 because of a suspected groin issue, as reported by ESPNcricinfo. When the 27-year-old was looking for a fresh start at the Royals, the injury has dealt a big blow to the star allrounder.

Samson moved to CSK in an exchange deal with the Royals where Curran and Jadeja were traded off. Samson spent 11 years at the Royals where he was their leading run-scorer and most-capped player.

The India wicketkeeper-batsman would be a star attraction after his prolif performance in India’s T20 World Cup winning campaign earlier this month. Samson is expected to open for CSK along with India’s U-19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre.

Samson is looking forward to his stint at CSK in presence of MS Dhoni and is also expected to don the wicketkeeping gloves when required. Since his transfer to the CSK, the fans of the Yellow Army are also excited to see Samson play some blazing knocks at Chepauk.
