IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals to start pre-season training camp in Jaipur from March 17

The first pre-season training camp for the next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season will begin in Jaipur, according to a statement released by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday.

The Rajasthan Royals team will gather at Pink City on March 17. The camp will begin with nets, fitness, and training sessions at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Under the direction of RR’s Director of Cricket and Head Coach, Kumar Sangakkara, the camp will include strength and training exercises, intensive training and planning, and team building.

At the franchise’s High Performance Center in Nagpur, a smaller number of players, including Ravi Bishnoi, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sandeep Sharma, and most recently Ravindra Jadeja, have previously attended a brief camp/fitness evaluation session. The Royals’ whole squad, including new players like Jadeja and Sam Curran, will gather at Jaipur camp for the first time before the season.

According to the schedule released by the IPL Governing Council, the team is expected to fly to Guwahati on March 26, 2026, for their season-opening game against CSK on March 30.

Prior to the Indian Premier League 2026 season, the Rajasthan Royals were notably involved in one of the largest trade-offs in IPL history.

Sanju Samson, who represented the Rajasthan Royals for 11 seasons and served as the team’s face for more than ten years, was traded for Rs 18 crores to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he will now wear the yellow jersey.

Englishman Sam Curran and experienced India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, were exchanged for the first champions. Curran retained his current pay of Rs 2.4 crores, while Jadeja’s price dropped from Rs 18 crores (at CSK) to Rs 14 crores (at RR).
