T20 World Cup jolt: Ishan Kishan limp-off after Jasprit Bumrah’s toe-crusher leaves India worried

In the India nets on Wednesday, Ishan Kishan showed off his dangerous recent form before getting struck by a jagged yorker from Jasprit Bumrah.

After missing his services in the opening match of the T20 World Cup against the USA, Bumrah’s full-tilt bowling for the second consecutive day was encouraging for India.

The same could not be said for Kishan, who was hit in the foot by a yorker from the Indian pace spearhead and hobbled off the nets. Kishan briefly made a comeback to batting in the nets.

But it appears that Bumrah will be back in the starting line-up for the Namibia match, which will act as a warm-up for him before Sunday’s match against Pakistan in Colombo.

“Bumrah is absolutely fine now. He’s doing better. As I said, we still have one more day, so hopefully he’ll be back in the team. If he continues to improve, the team management will take a call, and I think he could be back for the second game,” PTI quoted Tilak Varma as saying on the eve of the game.

After his bowling session, Bumrah even participated in catching drills.

After his session, Suryakumar Yadav posed for numerous photographs with DDCA officials as a fully recovered Washington Sundar bowled and batted.

Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh also obliged the DDCA officials and their families with selfies, which were the norm of the evening.
