
Son of cricket legend and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar got engaged to Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of well-known Mumbai industrialist Ravi Ghai. Close friends and relatives from both sides attended the private engagement.
Arjun is a 25-year-old left-arm fast bowling all-rounder who has played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and for Goa in domestic cricket. In the 2020–21 season, he made his debut in a Twenty20 match against Haryana, marking the start of his domestic career with Mumbai. Prior to that, he played junior cricket for Mumbai and was selected for the India U19 team. He relocated to Goa for the 2022–2023 season, where he made his List A and first-class debuts.
In red-ball cricket, Arjun has played 17 matches, scoring 532 runs with one century and two fifties, and taking 37 wickets, including one five-wicket haul and two four-wicket hauls. In List A cricket for Goa, he has appeared in 17 matches, scoring 76 runs in nine innings. In the IPL, he has turned out for the Mumbai Indians in five matches, delivering 73 balls and picking up three wickets at an average of 38.00, with best figures of 1/9. His economy rate stands at 9.36, while his strike rate is 24.3. With the bat, he has had limited chances, scoring 13 runs off nine balls at a strike rate of 144.44, with a highest score of 13.
Saaniya Chandok comes from one of the most well-known business families in Mumbai and is renowned for maintaining a low public profile. The InterContinental hotel and the well-known ice cream company Brooklyn Creamery are owned by the Ghai family, who have a significant influence in the food and hospitality sectors. As to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ official records, Saaniya Chandok is a Director and Designated Partner at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, which is situated in Mumbai.
