PKL: Bengal Warriorz edge out Telugu Titans in nail-biting tie-breaker

Devank was instrumental in Bengal Warriorz’s spectacular comeback victory over Telugu Titans in a Pro Kabaddi League tie-breaker in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In a fiercely contested match at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, Devank led the Warriorz to victory with his 14th Super 10 of the season, continuing his incredible form.

Vijay Malik’s brilliant raid gave the Titans the lead in the opening minute. To level the playing field, Devank gained a raid point, but the Warriorz swiftly retaliated.

Up until Devank’s incredible Super Raid, which earned three vital points and put the Warriorz up 8–10, the game was equally balanced.

When the Strategic Time Out was called in the first half, the Warriorz were still ahead by a slim margin, 8–11. The Bengal Warriorz got off to a solid start when play resumed, taking the first point and rapidly increasing their lead. They took full control of the game and quickly extended their lead to six points with an All Out.

The score increased to 26-15 as the Warriorz continued to apply pressure and suffered another All Out. The Bengal Warriorz had a commanding advantage of 28–17 at the end of the first half.

Thanks to an outstanding tackle by Ajit Pawar, the Telugu Titans took the lead at the start of the second half. But the Bengal Warriorz, under Prateek’s leadership, reacted right away.

Bharat Hooda then fought back for the Titans, putting in an excellent performance to complete his Super 10, helping reduce the gap. The Titans soon inflicted an All Out, cutting the deficit to 32-26.

Thanks to an outstanding tackle by Ajit Pawar, the Telugu Titans took the lead at the start of the second half. But the Bengal Warriorz, under Prateek’s leadership, reacted right away.

The Titans kept up their pressure, and they gained another vital point thanks to a great takedown by Shubham Shinde on Himanshu Narwal. By the time the Strategic Time Out was called in the second half, his effort had pushed the score closer to 34-31.

The Warriorz took an early lead and increased it to five points when play resumed. After that, Vijay launched two swift raids to get the Titans back into the game, and Aman’s tackle narrowed the margin even more.

The Titans continued to fight when the Warriorz responded with a Super Tackle for two points. The Telugu Titans took the lead with an ALL OUT with just over two minutes remaining.

The pressure on the Warriorz was maintained by Himanshu Narwal’s two-point attack and subsequent successful single.

Both teams played excellent defense in the closing seconds, preventing either from gaining a decisive advantage. The score was tied at 45-45 after a spectacular defensive stop, and the game entered a tie-breaker.

The Warriorz got off to a great start in the tie-breaker, winning the first point with a deft tackle and then winning a successful raid to establish a 2-0 lead. The Titans reacted admirably, and Bharat scored important points with a successful raid.

With the score at 3-3, Manjeet came through for the Warriorz and secured a crucial point with his raid, giving his team the lead once again.

The Titans, however, were not going to give up. Chetan Sahu’s self-assured raid tied the score at 5-5 and continued the match until the very end.

Devank went for the Warriorz with everything on the line. The Warriorz won the match-winning points thanks to his successful raid, and they won the tie-breaker 7–5.
