Rohit Sharma scolds security guard from stopping a fan after hitting his own Lamborghini with a shot – Watch

Before the Australia tour, Rohit Sharma trained for about two hours with his old Mumbai teammate Abhishek Nayar at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Friday.

Shubman Gill recently took Rohit’s place as India’s ODI captain, but Rohit will return to action on October 19 in Perth for a three-match series against Australia.

Rohit enjoyed two batting net sessions at the All Heart Cricket Academy, with Mumbai batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi and a few other local players in attendance.

During the training session, a young fan slipped past the ropes in a bid to meet his idol. As a security guard moved to stop him, Rohit quickly intervened. In a now-viral video, the 38-year-old is seen reprimanding the guard and asking him to let the boy through. The heartwarming gesture drew loud cheers from the crowd, who applauded Rohit’s humility and affection toward his young admirer.

Later another video went viral on social media that showed one his shots hit his Lamborghini parked outside the ground.

The video has Rohit going down for a slog sweep and smashed the ball out of the ground over what would have been the deep mid-wicket position.

As the ball went sailing over the ground, some of the fans shouted “gayi gaadi”, “khud ki hi gaadi ko phod diya.”

Rohit also showed some concern while looking in the direction of the car and then gave a sheepish smile under the helmet.

The 38-year-old Rohit last represented India in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in February this year, guiding the team to their second successive ICC title following the T20 World Cup triumph in the USA in 2024.

Along with longstanding teammate Virat Kohli, Rohit was included in the squad for the Australia ODI series despite his future being constantly questioned. Over the past year, the two great batsmen have retired from Test and T20 International cricket.

Prior to the team’s October 15 departure to Australia in two separate batches, Rohit, Kohli, and the recently selected ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will arrive in New Delhi to join the Indian squad, which is currently playing the West Indies in the second Test.
