
T20 World Cup winning star Sanju Samson was left off of India’s team on Monday for the three-match Twenty20 International series in Zimbabwe later this month. Meanwhile, pacers Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma received their first call-ups.
On July 23, 25, and 27, India will go to Zimbabwe for three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), all of which will take place in Harare.
For the second Twenty20 International against England in the current five-match series, teenage wonder Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took Samson’s spot.
Twice against Ireland and once in the first Twenty20 International against England in Durham, the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter suffered three straight failures.
Samson was replaced by Punjab wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh, who received his first call-up to the national team, on the selection panel led by Ajit Agarkar. Mayank Yadav, an express pacer, joined the team for the first time since 2024.
Shivam Dube was chosen by the selectors to replace the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy in the three-match ODI series against England.
