Virat Kohli to miss Afghanistan ODIs due to hamstring injury

India batting stalwart Virat Kohli was ruled out of the forthcoming ODI series against Afghanistan on Thursday due to a hamstring issue.

On June 13, the three-match series gets underway in Dharamsala.

“He is out of the ODI series due to a hamstring injury,” PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying.

In the just concluded IPL, Kohli, who is renowned for his unparalleled fitness even at 37, was in outstanding form and led RCB to their second straight title. In the Gujarat Titans final, he scored the winning runs.

The forthcoming series would lose its sheen due to Kohli’s absence. The former India captain is still a major draw for fans all around the world even if he is currently a one-format player.
