Punjab Kings top pacer Arshdeep Singh shocked fans on Monday night by abruptly deleting the majority of his Instagram account.
The 26-year-old removed almost 200 clips, including his immensely famous clip with Virat Kohli from India’s Champions Trophy 2025 celebrations, and altered his display picture.
Following a challenging few weeks on and off the field, fans were eager to speculate on social media about whether Arshdeep was planning a personal reset, a new redesign, or just taking a break from the internet noise.
Despite internet rumors, Arshdeep has not deleted any Punjab Kings-related information or removed the franchise name from his bio. There are now just about 40 postings on his profile, most of which are about corporate partnerships, family experiences, and cricket accomplishments.
The removal of his popular Champions Trophy reel with Kohli, which had apparently received over 150 million views, was one of the main talking points, though.
In recent weeks, Arshdeep has been under increasing social media criticism.
He faced criticism earlier this month when an alleged comment made about teammate Tilak Varma during Punjab’s match against the Mumbai Indians went viral on the internet. Some cricket fans and past players criticized the situation.
The left-arm pacer was also embroiled in other social media scandals, such as a caustic response to a fan on Snapchat following Punjab’s loss to Mumbai and another widely shared message on teammate Priyansh Arya.
During Arshdeep’s poor IPL 2026 campaign, which saw him take 14 wickets in 14 games, there was a lot of online talk.
