Lucknow Super Giants bowling coach Bharat Arun has backed pacers Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan to play for Team India, with both the bowlers currently having a great IPL season with the Lucknow franchise.
Prince has been really impressive and is one of the leading wicket-takers this season with 16 wickets in 10 matches so far at an average of 18.69. In LSG’s last game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Prince bowled Virat Kohli for a golden duck.
On the other hand, Mohsin has picked 10 wickets from five matches at an average of 14.90. He bowled his notable spell this season against Kolkata Knight Riders where he returned figures of 5 for 23.
“If you ask me a question, can they (Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan) play for India? Yes, they have it in them to play. It’s how well they (India’s team management) bring together the talent and getting the best out of it is a challenge for them,” Arun said.
The former India bowling coach said the strength of LSG’s pace attack was one of the main reasons behind his decision to join the franchise. He praised young talents like Prince and Mohsin Khan, while also pointing to the impressive performances of Mohammed Shami and the steady progress shown by Mayank Yadav.
“See, one reason me joining Lucknow Super Giants is due to the fact they were really exciting bowlers. If you look at Prince, Mohsin (Khan), (Mohammed) Shami is doing well and even now Mayank Yadav bowled pretty well in the last game. Okay, he is a little short of match practice, I would say, but he is getting there. And also, we have a few other exciting prospects on hand,” Arun also said.
